Ingredients :
Raw rice - 1 cup
Idly rice - 1 cup
Idly urad dal - 1/4 cup
Fenugreek - 1 tbsp
Preparation:
Wash and soak the above ingredients over night.
Make a fine paste of it.
Do wash your grinder or mixer grinder with 1 cup of water to remove the left over flour stuck on it....this water will be useful to dilute the batter when you cook.
The concistancy of the batter needs to be the exact of dosa batter consistency.....
Now heat a appa kadai....this is widely available in all a shops.
Pour in the batter an amount of one spatula....jus rotate the kadai instantly.... There must be no time gap between the moment you pour the batter and rotate the kadai ....this rotation is to make the appam jus like a bowl sticking on to the kadai.
Now cover the kadai for a minute next open and prick in the middle to check the appam is cooked ...the knife comes out fresh......now remove with the help of a holder and serve hot.
