Boli....dal boil.....




Ingredients :

Gram dal - 1 tumbler 
Coconut grated- 3 tbsp
Jaggery - 3/4 tumbler
Maida - 1 tumbler
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Ghee - 2 cups
Oil - 1 cup

Preparation :

Prepare the maida dough jus like you prepare chapatti dough......but let the dough be lill bit lose ......it will looks like its just lying down on the vessel you prepared.... Not a stiff ball like you kneed for chapatti.

This out layer dough needs to be prepared 8 hours prior you prepare the dessert.

Now the inner filling .....

Soak gram dal for an hour....drain water....cook in pressure cooker for 3 vissle.... And 10 minutes in slow flame.... Then remove of flame and wait for the pressure to come down....ones the pressure is down.....take the dal...filter...drain excess water....and grind in mixer to smooth paste....

Meanwhile let's prepare jaggery solution.... Take a thick bottom vessel.... Add jaggery and water to jus immerse jaggery..... Boil to melt.....filter to remove dirt.....

Now take a kadai....pour in the jaggery solution.....let it boil....low down flame and add the gram dal paste.....Mix well....ones they get well mixed.....add coconut grated...and cardamom.... And stir well in medium flame....till it becomes to a tough consistency...... Remove of kadai...and set aside to cool....

With this inner filling we have made....we can make balls of lemon size ....of around 10 nLland keep aside .

Heat a thava......

Now take a small ball of the maida dough...to a large lemon size... And spread on a plastic sheet....apply oil on the sheet and place the dough on the sheet....apply oil on hands.....spread by tapping on the dough....first make the dough flat..then spread in all direction to make a flat piece of  1/3 inch thickness....place the filling balls prepared in the middle of the flattered dough...... Close it...the outer dough will be streachable.....so cover it completly.....and again flatten....to 1/2 inch thickness....

All this we have done on the plastics sheet....now put apply oil on hand.....put your palm on the flattened uncooked boli...and turn the sheet upside down and bend exactly near the edge of the uncooked boli we prepared.....the sheet will come separately.... You will have the boli to cook in your palm

Apply ghee 1/2 tsp to thava...over that place the boli .....wait in slow flame... You will find fine pops....apply ghee on top layer......and turn The other side...wait till it gets cooked to golden  colour......don't let it burn..

Now ones both side golden colour...... Serve hot.....with ghee 1 tsp topped.
