Ingredients :
Pudina - 1 1/2 cup
Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup
Curry leaves - 1/4 cup
Dry red chilli - 2 no's ( long) or 3 no's (short)
Tamarind - 1 inch
Asafoetida - 1/2 tbsp ( powder)
Urad dal ( whole gram ) - 2 tbsp
Coconut grated - 1 cup
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Preparation :
Heat oil in a pan.....add urad dal and saute till golden brown... Then remove and keep it aside..in the same oil saute....dry red chilli,tamarind and asafoetida.....after removing the pan will still be hot....jus remove from flame and add pudhina,coriander leaves and curry leaves.... The left over heat in the pan is enough for the greens to cook.....
Now first crush salt ...then add dry red chilli,tamarind and asafoetida to paste....
At this stage add coconut....make it to paste and mix with the early ingredients added...
Then comes the greens cooked....make paste to mix well.......then add urad dal.....dal to be made fine grains....not pasty.......
Now jus wipe off pudina thovial... And store in air tight container . .. .will last for 2-3 days .....
Goes gud with...dosa, idly ,chapathi..... Plain white rice as rice mix paste.... Or with curd rice....
If you wanna make this in food processor... Follow the same procedure.....see to tat after adding urad dal...make pulse. ...don't run ....if you run it'll for sure get pasty....the grain texture give amazing taste..... And njy it....
