Poori masala



MASALA PREPARATION 
INGREDIENTS :

Potato - 6 no's boiled , pealed & mashed
Onions - 4 no's finely sliced
Green Chilli - 4 no's sliced into half each
Ginger - 1 1/2 inch
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp.
Mustard - 1 tsp
Channa dal - 3/4 tsp
Curry leaves - 1/4 cup
Oil - 4 tbsp
Salt to taste

PREPARATION :

Heat a pan ...add oil....and when the oil is hot... add mustard and wait to splitter...then add channa dal.....

Now add onions, ginger choppes ,green chillies and add a pinch off salt....

Saute well and cover to cook in slow flame .....wait till the Onions turn transparent....

Now bring in the mashed potato....add 1 1/2 tumbler of water....

Add turmeric powder and salt ......

Mix well and leave it in slow flame .. keep mixing now and then ...cook it
uncovered for about 5 -10 minutes .....

The masala will turn mild yellow in colour and that's when it has to be remembered off flame....

Serve hot with crisp poori ....

Goes good with dosa , idly ot chapatti....




POORI PREPARATION 

Ingredients :

Wheat flour - 1 tumbler
Water - 1/2 tumbler
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 2 cups ( to fry)

Preparation :

Take a wide open vessel.... Put on wheat flour,salt.....and add water.... Kneed well to make soft dough.......

Dough to be prepared just 10 minutes before we cook poori.

Now heat a kadai....pour in the oil.....let it get heated up...,meanwhile let's prepare the poori to cook.....

We can make 5 balls out of the given measurement....make balls of even size...look into the picture 


Apply oil on both the faces of poori maker...and place the ball in between.... And close the top...and press with the Handel....now you will get a thick round...flip it to the middle of the poori maker and press again for a thin round...for reqired thickness have a look at the picture below.



The right thickness to make poori....remove from poori maker and drop on oil ...drop from the side of kadai.....see to That you don't drop in the middle which will result in spilling hot oil on your hand or out....please be careful....beginners hav some one beside you ... 

One's you drop it just give a gentle press with a ladle on the top layer of it.....to bring out a layer......soon after it turn around.... And when its a golden shade....remove off flame and serve hot with masala

Poori maker....you can buy online or any shop....this helps to make a pretty gud circle....
