Onion - 1 large ( cut to fine chops )
Green chilli - 1 no's
( depends on size...if long one will do ....else take 2-3 make fine chops )
Ginger - 1 inch
Coriander - 1 hand full ( fine chops )
Curry leaves - 1 hand full ( fine chops )
Channa dal - 1 cup
( to be soaked for 2 hours )
Salt to taste
Oil to fry - 2 cups
Preparation :
Wash and strain soaked dal ......grind it coarsely..... do not add water.....at the end add salt to it and grind with pulse
Now take a large bowl and add all chopped Ingredients and ground dal..... mix well.
Heat oil in kadai and make small patties and keep aside .
To check heat jus drop a pinch of batter ...it will raise up ti the surface immediately.....by then start to add the patties.....add 4-5 not more.... maintain flame between high and slow limit.....
Once you find one side cooked turn over to the other side.....do not disturb immediately after dropping in oil.....they will split... resulting in Lossing shape......
You can also drop small pieces of the batter ...which will taste like paruppu pakoda.....
Once golden brown remove from oil and serve hot .....
Yummy snack ....or with south Indian meals...... with evening tea.....it's simply awesome .....
