Prepare in less than 15 minutes!!!
Go through the precaution ( given at the end of the recipe ) if your a Beginner.
Ingredients :
Cardamon powder - 1 pinch
Preparation :
To a vessel add Jaggery and immersable amount of water.
Set it aside to cool.The kozhukatai dough is prepared.
Meanwhile prepare the steamer .
Fill water ( approx 300ml ) in the steamer and heat it up.
Now the modak dough will be friendly to handle .
The modak will get the impression of your fingers .
Now finish the entire dough this way and arrange them on the greased steaming tray.
Once the water in the steamer boils ( in minimum 3 minutes the water will boil ) open the steamer and place the steaming tray with kozhukatai.
Now place the steaming plate which holds all the kozhukatai.
Close the steamer and let it steam for 3 minutes.
Precaution :
Open the water in the steamer starts to boil open the steamer on the opposite side so that you don't get the steam on your hands. Reduce the flame even before you are about to open the steamer. See to that you don't disturb the bottom of the steamer in which the water is boiling. Be as much as careful such that you don't spill the water also.
Be with the same precaution while you open it again to remove the steamed modak.
If the steamer has a steel handle it better you use a folded towel to handle the top of steamer.
When you lift the steaming tray with the modak the tong could slip coz of weight.
It's much better if a folded towel is used.
While using a tong , hold it with much grip so that what you hold doesn't slip off.
