Spicy Garlic Chutney




Spicy garlic chutney

Ingredients :

Garlic - 6 cloves ( large )
Red chilli - 10 no's
Tomato - 8 no's ( medium size )
Tamarind - 1/4 inch
Salt to taste
Oil (gingelly oil) - 1 cup

Preparation :

Soak garlic, red chilli and tamarind in hot water. Close it with a lid and keep it aside .

To be soaked for half an hour prior.

Chop Tomatoes and grind them smooth.

Transfer them to a another vessel and remove the pieces which is not grinded.

Meanwhile heat up a pan.

Add these to the food processor and to this add the soaked red chilli, garlic and tamarind.

Make smooth paste if it , then mix both.

To the hot pan add the grinded paste and add 3/4 cup of water , mix it and Leave it in low flame .

Wait for it to reduce to 1/2 of the volume it was, by now add oil.Mix and again leave in low flame.

Once you find the oil saperating add a pinch of sugar and remove off flame.

Cool it and transfer to a container.This can be refrigerated for 1 week.

Goes good with dosa and idly.
