Chukku Kappi ( Ginger Coffee )



A traditional south Indian recipe.
Also known as Ginger coffee.
This is a very good home remedy for cold , throat infection or fever.




Ingredients :

Dry ginger ( chukku ) - 1 inch ( crushed )
Coriander seeds ( dhaniya ) - 1 tbsp
Arisi Thipili ( long pepper ) - 5 no's
Kandan-thipili ( long pepper root ) - 4 no's
Pepper - 7 no's
Cumin seeds ( jeera ) - 1/4 tsp
Water - 200 ml
Milk - 350 ml
Panai vellam ( palm jaggery ) - 4 tbsp

Preparation :

Bring in dhaniya , pepper and jeera .
Jus crush them to open .
Now to a vessel add chukku , dhaniya , pepper, jeera , arisi Thipili , kandan-thipili .
Add water and let it boil .
Add palm jaggery while it boils.
Let the water reduce to 50 ml.
Now remove from flame and add hot milk.
Serve hot.
