This is really healthy and ideal for lill one's... When its feed to them see to that you remove cashews.... Or don't add....just liquidate ghee and add.
Ingredients
Passiparrupu ( green gram dal) - 1 1/2 cup
Jaggery (pagu vellam preferred) - 1 cup
Coconut milk - 1 cup ( 1st milk )
Cashews - 4 no's
Ghee - 1tbsp
Cardamom powder - 1tsp
Condenced milk - 1 tbsp
Preparation
Take the right amount of green gram saute in a plain hot pan in slow flame....slow flame is adviced because this dal tends to get roast if you lose attention.
Do not leave in pan and go for some other job...since this falls in a baby food recipe...the dal may skip to next stage where it is tough for the dal to cook soft.
Saute still they are hot enough to hold in hand.Which exactly means carefully touch the dal your sauting ..see to that you don't hurt you hands touching the hot pan just take the dal and feel the temperature that it is hot enough to stay in hands...so that soon after you take in hand you drop them down instantly.
Now remove dal from flame . Wash the dal only one's. Soak in water for just 10 minutes......and cook in vessel ...
Again cooking of dal needs patients.... Boil around 1 1/2 tumbler of water in a tall vessel.Tall vessel preferred because the dal when cooking will increase in volume and over flow....you may preferably need a vessel to the length of you palm....and of course broad bottom.
Once the dal is cooked add jaggery and let it boil for a minute to completely dissolve.
Now add coconut milk and cardamom powder.Boil only for 1 minute.
Remove off flame and add condensed milk.
Then add cardamom powder and ghee roasted cashew.
Serve hot.
