Channa masala



Ingredients :

Onion - 2 large fine chops
Tomato - 2 large fine chops
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
Green chilli - 2 cut to slits & seeds                                          removed                            
Potato - 3 large cooked pealed & smashed
Cinnamon - 1 inch
Oil - 3 tbsp
Butter - 1 tbsp
Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Dhaniya powder - 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tbsp
Garam masala - 1/2 tbsp
Channa masala  - 1 tbsp
Channa white - 1 cup soaked over night
Coriander - 3 tbsp fine chops
Water - 3 cups
Salt to taste

Preparation : 

We hav soaked channa....it must be washed and cooked in cooker with 3 cups of water for 4 -5 vissle......open and check for smashy texture.

Heat a pan .....add butter 3 tbsp....let it melt....add cinnamon.... Saute..... And add onion...saute till it is transparent.....now add tomato to get well cooked.....then comes green chilli.....and finally ginger garlic paste ......saute all well till it leaves oil.....this will be the basic gravy for the dish...put this on slow flame.....

Add chilli powder, dhaniya powder, turmeric powder, channa powder... To the gravy and saute well...in slow flame....

Now take channa ....drain water and add  1 cup to the gravy we have prepared.......

Now split the cooked channa into two parts..... One of this is supposed to be made into a smooth paste in mixer grinder..... And other to be partially smashed ....smash with a spatula...

Then add the partially smashed channa .....and channa paste....now add the remaining water ....mix well.....

Now we have cooked, pealed and smashed potato.....add this potato to the gravy......mix well....let it boil......

Again when you find the oil leaving the gravy.....stop the flame.....now.....add Coriander....garam masala...

Remove off flame.....and drop in a tbsp of butter when you serve....

Goes good with ...chapathi🍪 poori,dosa?....its solo so tasty.....
