Ingredients :
Bottle gourd - medium size 1
( peal skin..cut to small pieces )
Thur dal - 1 cup
( soak in water for 1/2 an hour )
Coconut grated - 1/2 cup ( optional)
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tbsp
Mustard - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - 1/2 cup
Red chilli dry - 2 ( cut to 2 each )
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Preparation :
Add the soaked dal to the cut bottle guard and add 1 1/2 tumbler do water to it....add turmeric powder and pressure cook for 3 whistle and leave in slow flame for 10 minutes.....
Open one's pressure comes down....
Now boil in slow flame for 10 minutes.... And add salt and grated coconut.....
The curry will thicken and the water will reduce....by then remove off flame.
Now temper ....heat oil..... Add mustard wait to splutter... Then add cumin seeds... And let them crackle... Then switch off flame and add curry leaves.... Now add this to the curry prepared....
Enjoy with chapathi or white rice.......
Note :
This is very mild kinda in spice .....if u want it to be bit spicy....add 2 more dry red chilli when you temper.....
It gives add on flavour when red chillies are tempered separately.....
