Puliogure ( Eazy and simple )


The most Authentic receipe from South.
Most liked by many of us when we visit a temple.
Prepared eazy and simple with the same taste.





Do read the note below for better outcome.

Ingredients :

Rice - 1 large bowl
Tamarind extract ( thick ) - 3 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp
Asafoetida - 1/2 tbsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp + required

For final preperation :

Oil - 2 tbsp ( gingelly oil )
Mustard - 1/2 tsp
Groundnut - 2 tbsp
Dry red chilli - 3 no's
Curry leaves - 10 - 15
Asafoetida - 1/4 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1 pinch

Preperation :

Take the rice in a large bowl.
To this add tamarind extract , turmeric powder , asafoetida , salt.
Mix well ( hands preferred ).
See to that you don't break the grains.
Mix well and close it.
Leave it over night or up to 8 hours.

Now coming to the final preperation.
Heat a pan with oil.
To this add mustard , then groundnut , dry red chilli , asafoetida and curry leaves.
Now bring in the wonderfully tamarind  soaked rice .
Mix gently . Add turmeric powder and salt.
Leave in low flame for 2 minutes.
Then serve hot with papad .
Yummy Puliogure prepared in a absolutely ezy and simple method.
Taste is so Authentic as it's expected.

Note :

Rice is supposed to be 3/4 cooked for the recipe to taste good.

Tamarind extract -

1 lemon size tamarind ball to be soaked in 1/4 glass of water ( warm water )
Now after 15 minutes extract it.
No extra water to be added.
The recipe taste good only if the tamarind extract is thick.
